I Just started messing with a Holley 66mm throttle body. Are they any good? Well we thought we had the tps adjusted right but at 5,000rpm the Check engine light comes on and vtec doesn't kick in. Any suggestions?

it's the d16y8 and we have not adjusted the tps properly. What's the original adjustments for the tps for this engine? I'm sure that it's the tps being out of tune.

your life would be sooo much easier if you could get hold of an OBDII scan tool.
Just hook up the scan tool to the diagnostic port under the driver side dash and look at the load % on the scan tool.
Should be approximately 10% at closed throttle.
Whenever you are close to that value, just tighten the TPS and voila, youre done

Re: tps question (00 Em1)
you would want to use a uei or anythign with a dual scope you probe i think the middle wire and test for glitches even tho it has voltage dosnt mean its good a Digital voltmeter wouldnt refresh fast enought to see a quick drop in voltage and comes back up while openin the throttle

The car runs perfect after we adjusted the tps anywhere between .20v-.30v for a proper below 1k idle. Just put the negative terminal on the multimeter on the Green/black wire and the Positive termal on the red 0-5v variable wire. We set it to .20v at idle and when full throttle it's right about 5v.
