Default Torque specs

im putting my lsvtec back together so i was wondering if anyone can point me to a site or thread with all the torque specs for doing thise. rods bolts, mains, head, etc.. i did search but any help would be awsome

why are you builing an engine with out the specs right there in front of you ?

any ways........

main caps 56 lb-ft
rear main seal 8 lb-ft
oil pump 8mm bolt 17lb-ft, 6mm bolt 8lb-ft
oil scren 9lb-ft
oil pickup 8lb-ft
oil pan 9lb-ft
baffle plate 8lb-ft

stock ls rod bolts 23lb-ft
vtec head bolts: first 22lb-ft, then 60lb-ft
cam caps and oiling plates: 8mm bolt 20lb-ft, 6mm bolt 7.2lb-ft
cam gears 41lb-ft
valve cover 7.2lb-ft

yes there is, there are numbers on the head if you look, if you even tried looking. Please go out and buy a Chilton book, it'll tell you everything you need to know! good luck!! By the way its only running around $15 for the book, I assume you do have $15 right??

Chilton and Haynes suck; and frequently have wrong information. Go to the link above and get the actual factory manual.

Damn man, sounds like a serious build but are you going to be checking the clearances before putting the main caps together? What about piston to valve clearances? Are you just planning to torque it up and get it over with?
