torque mount question
ok, so i was working on my friend's EM1 today (my old car), and all of the mounts were screwed. They were all torn pretty bad, so my buddy and i replaced them. We bought the two side mounts (engine and tranny) from honda, and we used the rear one from my 99 dx hatch.
The overall vibration went down, but it still shakes pretty bad at 40mph and up. we took another look at the mounts and we saw that the torque mounts were f***ed up too. We are replacing them tomorrow, but i want to know if that is what is causing the bad vibration, or if its that fact that we used the mount that came off my hatch. I searched on this topic but i couldn't really find an answer. people keep saying that the torque mounts are important if you are using oem mounts (probably for a damn good reason), but would having them ripped cause the engine to still shake that much??
any help would be awesome

Thanks for reminding me that I need new ones for my EM1 as well.
My engine moves something fierce because those two side mounts are shot. All the little rubber things are torn out.
So yeah, something to look into to fix your shaking problem. You know it's a problem, and it might the be the root of all evil in your engine bay. Fix them.

Re: (IslandSi)
they are getting fixed no matter what, i was just wondering if they are the cause for the remainder of the shaking....when i owned the car, it never shaked anything like that
