Default top speed

im working with a d, the engine kicks back just above 120. is that an ecu thing or the fact its a d15, the engine feels like it can go further but something is stopping it. soon as you reach 122 pressing the gas does nothing. im not taping out im still around 2500 rpms from redline.

someone help trying to drop a turbo on it and i dont wanna just get to 120 really quik and not go any faster. was also considering the NX kit ive had sitting in the garage for a different car that i got rid of already. just dont wanna bother if i cant make it roll over 120

Seriously, are you kidding me? you are telling me that by doing does changes you are going to increase your top speed????!!!!???? Plz this is not Need for Speed Underground. You need to do alot more then just what you mention above to be even able to increase you top speed. Certainly with your D15 8 valve

Wow, you just Pwned the poor man, but seriously... You could run 85 octane in the 8 valve, and not notice a difference between it and the 94. People think the higher octane the more horsepower. All higher octane does is burns quicker, resulting in a cooler burn than 87. It reduces cylinder wall pressure which is why you run 93 octane on a turbo app. when you can.

_top speed is like drag racing _you change the stuff that helps the car run under load_ you want to change the economy friendly stuff into give me all you got d15-

i got a 99d16 ek4 now that loves to bang against the top speed limiter[the ecu starts to cut the power off around 120] but the car red lines at 8000- i have a picture of me at 120 {dash board shot} but they wont let me post pics yet !!!!!</TD></TR></TABLE>

I agree with o rly, you really have no idea what in the expletive you are talking about - all your "faster top end" and **** is all IN YOUR HEAD.

Wires/plugs/rotors CANNOT extend the ECU governor...unless you bought them from the same guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans.

The octane, also has NOTHING to do with acceleration, top end, or engine life.

Octane is simply the rating at which it combusts due to pressure, the higher the octane, the more you can compress it before it combusts. I'm not sure I want to use the word "all" but all 92-98 civics (STOCK COMPRESSION RATIO) can use 87 gas with no problem, you could also pay more for say...99 gas...and you're JUST paying more. You will NOT get more life out of your engine, and you will NOT find more power.

If you upgrade your compression ratio and then you find that with 87 octane gas you're missing (the gas is combusting before your cylinder is at TDC), then you need to step it up a bit, maybe to 89 or 91. NO stock USDM honda 92-98 should need anything above 87 octane gas, and putting higher octane gas in there will not help you in any way, shape, or form asside from draining your wallet faster (and in case you're wondering how that "helps" you - it helps you because it keeps morons like you from buying and supporting fake merchandise such as the turbonator or the Fram air intake (that gives you 30 more hp and 15 extra mpg)).

Hope that helps...

I really do, hope that helps, b/c if it doesn't, you're a completely useless case....

EDIT:
PS: Yeah, I'm sure the car LOVES when you bash it against the rev limiter...dick.

You're the same jerk wadd that'll come back here a month or two from now wondering why he blasted a rod through the block.
