Top end power
Every time i race and beat someone i always start really putting to them in 3rd gear. i've got a JDM B18c in a EG. I there anything i can do to build me low end so that i can just leave people off the line?

Re: Top end power (brcivic411)
i have the same motor with the same problem. I don't think the problem is that out low end is not good is that's out 3rd gear is longer than most cars. Every time i race someone and it's a close race I always win because of 3rd gear. usually when people switch to 4th i'm still in 3rd and that's when i start to real people in. My third gear has come in handy twice so far. Once i was racing a GSR that was spraying and he had me by half a car till third then i pulled a car on him. Same thing happened against a GST. I kinda like winning in 3rd gear. Right when the other person thinks he won that's when you get him.

Get an ATS 4.929 final drive.
I had one in my tranny and it freaking ruled.
Some might say "get an LSD" but honestly it doesn't help a ton with just launching.
I'd say get some Z10 radius arms and some good sticky tires. Drag radials if you're that gung ho about street racing. Tires will help you probably more than anything really. You'll be able to launch out at a higher RPM which is better because you're that much closer to your peak whp.

Re: Top end power (cjames235)
I appreciate all the help. I really wish i could get an ITR tranny and some nitrouse and some good slicks but I will never ever have anything form jackson racing on my car. That the worst investment anyone could ever make on a honda.

Buy a car with a V8 if you want low end power, I doubt Honda even knows how to make an engine with torque, they sure *** hell are excellent with mid range and top end though!
