top end
im new here and i want to ask a bit of a question here about top end in my 94 civic dx with the d15 motor. current motor mods consist of intake, header, full exhaust (no cat), nology wires, air/fuel meter, and a "mugen spec" chip. ok, before i got the chip my car ran great and i could hit the redline in every gear no problems and top speed was not a problem getting to it, now i have that "mugen" chip in it and its works well on the lower rpm range, but seems to struggle at top end. now its modified so that it has better acceleration and and fuel curve is different and the redline is different. when i get to like the 5000 rpm range power drops off big time., and 4th and 5th gear in that range i get nothin, like i could walk faster then i am driving. i almost got beat by a neon the other day cause the chip sucks. so my question is how do i solve my top end problems? i am going to get a cam for it soon and i want to know if i should get rid of the chip and go back to the stock chip or keep it and maybe the cam will make up for some power. all i know is that i couldnt even hit the stock fuel cutoff in fifth gear flat to the floor when it was no problem before, thanks for any info
