ok today i took off my head on my d16z6 because it needs a new head gasket. out of the ten head bolts the middle one closest to the fire wall has oil in it but the rest are dry is this normal? also ive read on here that the d16z6 has a paper head gasket is this true cause mine is metal. i got a y8 head gasket anywase. also will the y8 head gasket yeild higher comperssion cause some one told me it does? i got some pics but for some reason we todd did racing isnt working right now so ill get em up soon. oh yea should i bother cleaning all the crap on top of the pistons or leave it? thanks

nope no arrows doesnt say up just a part number stamped. have you ever done a head gasket? anywase i figured that out. still need to know about the oil in the head bolt hole anyone?

i think the y8 is thicker, so it might decrease compression but im not fully sure. the d16z6 isn't made out of paper, prolly just someone exagerating about how they dislike them

yea they would but like i said we todd did racing isnt working when go to the site it says web site not responding. all the head bolt holes are completely dry exept for one is this normal?

im guessing that because your head gasket was bad maybe some oil leaked and got on the head bolt

i would get some new head studs while your there and prolly just replace timing belt and water pump

yea i allready got arp head studs y8 head gasket and hondata heatsheild. i just did the timing belt and water pump no more than 10,000 miles ago. is it going to be ok to put that head stud in the hole with oil in it?

there is oil in the hole? or just on the stud? if you replaced all that other **** then your good to go

well i noticed it on the bolt when i pulled it out then i looked in the hole and it is about half full of oil and the rest are completely dry. oh yea i found out the y8 and z6 gaskets are the same thickness just the y8 is cheaper.

so the z6 is probably better quality....im sorry i can't be more help with the head bolts, but i don't want to say go ahead because im not sure if it is good, but someone else should be able to help you

with what a q tip? i was thinking it just poored in there from the oil hole right next to the bolt hole.
