Icon5 Took distributor off 97 Honda Civic LX and put it back on, now it won't start.

I removed the distributor from my 1997 Honda Civic LX to replace a busted hose that was causing the car to overheat. I didn't mess with anything on the distributor or change anything on it, just removed the bolts and set it aside. I put it back in in the same position that it was in when I took it out, and made sure nothing was changed from before. However, now my car will crank but will not start up. I tested for a spark to see if I wasn't getting any and the spark was still there. The only thing I can think of is that my ignition timing is messed up, but wouldn't the car still start if the ignition timing is off?

Did you not mark the original position above the top bolt prior to removal?
you are certain the firing order is in correct sequence? Meaning plugs wire in correct spot.

if you did not mark prior to removal, timing would be off.
if plug wires not correct order, it will not start.

No, I did not mark the original position but I did make sure the wires are all in the correct position. Can the messed up timing prevent it from starting?

No it shouldn't. You more than likely got the plug wires on wrong. Trust me I've been there, they are easy to mix up even when you think you have them right.

Shaft coupler could be engaged the wrong way (180 degrees off). Look at the groove in the end of the camshaft and on the coupler.
