Re: too old?
No never too old. Whenever you feel ready to get out, but I know guys in their 30's still rocking the import scene. One dude in his 40's I believe posted his build, and I'm 25 and not planning on giving up my civic any time soon.

Re: too old?
Bleh you should be asking yourself that. I know of a couple 50 year olds that drive K series hatches . Never too old or too young really... But if you need something more presentable for work and what not that's a different story.

Re: too old?
you can also try going vip status newer lexus, infinity, acura, etc
that's what I plan to do when I'm a little bit older. It kinda suits your needs a little better I guess but you can still remain in the scene

Re: too old?
Why would it matter?
The only concerns I could see is being older can bring on other responsibilities, so you don't need to have a car you're going to worry will be stolen during a quick run to pick up milk. That or if you drive it to work, you could be seen as less professional if you're showing up in a thirteen year old Honda that looks more like it should belong to your son than to you.
If you have those concerns, get a daily driver. Leave the modded car at home.
I'm 26 and I've never worried that I'm too old for the Honda scene.
Btw, I know an older guy who drives a lowered 4G hatchback everywhere. His kids are about my age. This guy owns a small company that makes suspension parts. I'm hoping to support his company by purchasing some of those bars soon.

Re: too old?
Age literally means nothing in terms of a hobby. Building car is a hobby. The only reason I can think someone would ask a question like this because they are afraid of being criticized by a younger crowd who have the same hobby. And in my opinion you should be mature enough at an older age to brush what others say off your shoulder and do what you love.
Like NOFX said, if you're worried about not looking very professional, grab a nice 4 door daily, and rock the build at home.

Nah.....who cares. I feel like im old (24) and i play games like i was 10. I dont give a **** what anyone thinks. Same tought for cars. **** my dad is about 45 and has a Eg hatch that he wants me to help him fix it up. Just that he hasnt made up his mind cuz he's still *** hurt about his old celica( back in the days) that he fixed up a gang of times and would always get jacked. So he thinks about it. But atleast he still drives a EG hatch and hits MAd Vtek all the time....LoL

Re: too old?
I'll be 30 this year too, and I still drive a swapped and dropped civic that I bought when I was 23. I guess I occasionally feel a little looked down on for it, but I don't care. It's not like I have to drive clients around in it. I only wish I could haul my band stuff in it, or drive on more than 3" of snow, but that's why I have a CRV.
Do what you want.

Re: too old?
I Got a laugh out of this thread. Hell I am 38 just got into the Honda scene a year ago when I bought a 97 hatch at an auction and found out all the stuff you could do to it. I started out with an auto trans d16 y7 now I 've got a supercharged GSR 5 speed and many many other mods. Its been a blast so far and I am thinking what to do next. I just went to the track yesterday and ran a 13.55 at 100.59 mph hell 38 years old and my first pass down the track ! So hell 27 is definately not to old and I can tell ya I am not going to stop modding my car anytime soon !
