Too much of a pain in the *** to return to stock?
thinking about getting this '97 CX hatch. it has 110k miles on original motor and listed as $3999. i've never returned a car back to stock, especially a riced out car and this one's pretty bad. do you guys think it'd be too much of a pain in the *** to return it to stock? i would have a good amount of money left over to help in spending on stock parts..
I dont think it'd be TOO bad.. paint a couple interior pieces, change tail/head lights, slam it, then turbo it

Its not nearly as bad as many other out there.
A few new panels a can of aircraft stripper and it'll be fine. Heads and tails can be bought for cheap

That ain't ****. YOu could turn that back to stock in a day. Just pull the trim pieces, paint em black. All the while spray teh drums black and change out the tail lights. Most of the time would just be waiting for **** to dry

I would figure aircraft stripper would melt the plastic pieces, but i've never dealt with it.
Is it safe to use on plastics?
So you guys think it's a decent deal? I mean ****.. I was planning on spending $6k for a car, and this one I could get for $3500

nope, but on those baby blue drums it'll be fine.
For $4k, Id buy it....if nothing else come back with $3500 and work up.
EDIT**whats that thing on the passenger's side of the dash??

That one's not bad at all. Just have to get rid of all the blue **** and the Altezzas, and it'll be just fine - then you can start from there.

Not too bad at all.
Just be careful when reinstalling new stock panels and such. Make sure you buy what you really want in the condition you want. Don't settle on good enough.

that's nothing really...shouldnt be too much of a hassle...id rather return a car back to stock like that than deal with severe leaking problems in my car

If you end up with it, I'll help you get it back to stock Hunter. It won't take us more than a weekend (especially since I've got a Helms and know how everything on them comes apart.)
EDIT: All I can really see wrong with it are interior peices and the taillights. Those alone could be out in a couple hours.
That speakerbox in the center kills me. I want that badboy for my hatch! I'm calling it now as my fee for helping you fix this thing.

Yeah, you could easily do that in a weekend....
Just think, you can take all those shitty parts off and sell them to some ricer for a profit!
At least you don't have to take off a body kit and get new bumpers etc...

Because the original owner liked it, that's why. Who cares what was done to the car, it's not yours.
$1500 dollars? It's a 96+ hatch with 110k on it. You can hardly find a running EG for 1500. Theres no body damage, and I'll even go with the original poster to check it out (if he wants and decides to buy it) before he buys it. I hope your additude in real life is better than this.
"**** dawg, I aint gettin that car, look at them ugly rims! I know it's a 5000 dollar car, but I'll give you 1000 for it because it's got some stuff on it I don't like!"

Re: (cherroneballs)
seriously?
i'm gonna go take a look at it tomorrow and if the body is straight and interior isn't any worse than what it looks like, i may get it.
