hey guys, im planning on getting a few new things for my 2000 SI. AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator, AEM Fuel Rail, and BLOX or Skunk2 Intake Manifold. As of right now im running a b16a2 motor with dc intake, dc 4-2-1 headers and apex n1 exhaust. A friend of mine had told me if i did that entire setup that im planning, id be putting to much pressure on the motor and that i should do cams to fix that...i was wondering what you guys thought towards that. Im trying to avoid doing internals just to keep my motor running reliable. Could i stick to just AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator, AEM Fuel Rail, and BLOX or Skunk2 Intake Manifold with the mods i already have and be safe? and get it all tuned of course?

Why are you buying an AEM fpr and fuel rail? The stock fpr and fuel rail work just fine. Oh and what your friend said makes no sense.

haha yeahh...i knew it sounded a bit awkward when he told me that, thats why i figured id do a thread on it to get comments from other people to see what they thought. thanks

Your motor is a big air pump. It sucks air in, there is a vacuum in the intake, so there is no way to have too much pressure on the motor for an N/A. It pulls in only as much air as it can.

the only thing u might lose some power in the lower rpm's because the new intake manifold will flow better and it will decrease air velocity from 0-3000rpm or so, After that the manifolds design will excel, and ur friend is a complete dumbass
