too good to be true?
so i found this guy selling a greddy b16 turbo kit brand new in the box with everything that the greddy kit comes with, minus the intercooler for 1200 dollars shipped. The only thing is, that price is insanely cheap and he says it comes with 330cc injectors, and i thought the greddy kit came with 310cc. I also asked for a picture, and he sent me the one from the greddy site, rather than the kit in HIS possesion, meaning he might not have it. I am kinda worried because if this is legit, i will never find a deal like this again, but i also dont wanna get scammed...any advice...
and if the seller of the turbo kit is reading this, no disrespect to you, it's just that i have never dealt with this much money online before.

If it is too good to be true. . .most of the time it is! If you do decide to go through with it, make sure you are able to reach him on a phone. . .and try calling him several times. . .also, see if he is willing to ship COD. I made my first purchase online a week ago. . .and I am hoping all goes well when I receive my gauge cluster tomorrow. . .i'm keeping my fingers crossed. . .I bought it from a cool guy though. . .thanks a lot Guardson

pay him half through paypal and wait til the kit comes and pay the rest.... when buying anything from the net, its hard trust pple with our hard earned $'s...... but if its too good to be true, pass on it

I always buy local so I can meet them. I never trust sending my money out anymore. I go burned bad once. I won't make the same mistake again.b

Use escrow for sure. Paypal isn't ****....if you send him half with Paypal, you can flush it down the toilet.
Been there, done that.

ESCROW ESCROW ESCROW ESCROW if you do decide to go through with it ...PAYPAL sucks major ***** in my opinion, and they will leave you high and dry if you get screwed, its your choice and your hard earned money..its always best to buy local or from a legit co. with a credit card...CC companies are good at resolving issues with your/there money! i would HATE to read another post where someone got ripped

By the sound of this deal, I would only go the COD route. Sounds too good and he hasn't provided you with anything to make you trust him. Be careful when dealing on the internet!

COD is no good cause you can't open the package and i have heard of people opening to find a box of rocks. Best thing is escrow.com, they are kinda expensive but you get to open the package and check it. That makes it all worth it.

Be very carefull. Tell him to send you some real pictures of the real kit he has on his possesion. Do not even do COD because he can send you a box of rocks and the deliver guy will not allow you to open up the box untill you pay. Be very carefull.

Re: too good to be true? (2000 es eye)
okay, so i asked him...he didnt say yes or no. He just kept sayin, "send the money out, if you are not serious about this, i will sell to someone else. I have gotten so many e mails and turned them down because i thought you were going to buy it. Let me know if you are serious."
I asked him one more time, so i wanna see what he says. I left him a telephone message, so maybe he will call back.
About this escrow thing, wouldnt that be in favor of the buyer?...wouldnt i be able to inspect the turbo and take it out and replace it with something else and just decline purchase?..not saying i would or anything, just sounds like it would be too beneficial to the buyer. Keep in mind i would NEVER EVER do anything like this. Just curious...

Re: too good to be true? (Eyewitness)
i sell stuff all the time on-line.i always accept money order and i'll always come thru w/ the merchandise as stated.i also do PAYPAl w/ the exception that you pay the 3% charge.i'll do C.O.D.,but you'll have to pay for shipping and handling fees(packing material, gas bringing the package to the service area) up front.the reason for charging handling fees is what if the person changes his/her mind.i always change my mind back and forth.one minute i want it and the next minute i don't.so that my time for packing and bringing is not wasted in case the customer changes his/her mind.
ESCROW is just stupid. if the package is very well packed and the customer opens it up and then decides that they don't want it(the night before on-line they found it cheaper, but still curious to see how it looks).the packing is wasted! when it comes back to the seller,it could be damaged.then you have to file claims and wait. most people just want to sell and get the money right away."time is money"
prices sometimes too cheap, maybe their car got stolen/crashed or they decided to go a different route. anything is possible. the best way is to buy local or C.O.D. but pay shipping up front that way the seller wont lose any money.
