Default Today's Ownage aka Car Fire

All was well today until i came out of work to go home for lunch and I opened my door to clouds of smoke. I nearly passed out from the fumes of burning carpet. I bolted back inside to get an extinguisher and everyone else rushed out. I had no idea what was wrong and I reeeeeaaaally didnt want to hit it with the foam. We finally sourced it to the wires for my amps in the trunk and the wires to the fog switch. My guess is the heat melted them and they shorted out, all the wonderful current bound for my amps was now in the switch for the fogs, as they were brightly lit. Normally they dont even work! Anyway we ripped out the center consol and scoped the damage. The carpet was burnt all the way to the floorboards and part of the center consol is melted. Fortunatley all the carpet damage is under the armrest consol. Not all that bad considering my car was seconds from a fireball. Just shook me up, I'm home for lunch and I can't even eat. Anyone got the hookup for a 2k civic armrest consol?

I am thinking that your insurance should cover quite a bit of this, if not, well you are on your way to a stripped interior i guess

6 hours later and its almost fixed....well sorta. I yanked out all the wires for my aftermarket accesories, and got 12 gauge to replace them. A whole gang of inline fuse holders and fuses. I just ordered a new center consol and I cut out the burnt sections of carpet and I'm gonna go patch whats visible right now. I still have to rewire all the stuff, which is gonna take time
