Default tires and torque question.

So my civic has 17" rims with low profiles on the rear and 16" rims with standard tires on the front. I was told switching the low pros to the front would increase torque but am skeptical because of the rim size. Will the 1" difference make it a waste of time or will the torque still increase if at all? Thanks for any help.

In all actuality, smaller (thus lighter) wheels up front would increase your acceleration.

Thats what i had assumed. But what would be concerned lighter? The 17s with low pros or the 16s with standards?

There's more to it than just "lighter", but it is highly likely that the rotating mass of the 16" is less than that of the 17". There are too many factors in the wheels for us to actually tell you, without more information. Just as one small example, a 17x5 would probably have a lower rotating mass than a 16x8.5, but then you would have to deal with tire sizing and traction differences...

Simple answer, just keep the 16's up front.
