which tire size for my 16x7 40 offset c8's?
Recently, my dad went overseas and got me a set of some gunmetal c8's. Just recently I found out they were 40+ offset and we all know this wheel size is a big problem for low cars because they will DEFINETLY rub. I've got Tein SS on my eg right now so I need to know which is the best tire size for me? btw...I like to keep my car to where it sits right above the tire. thanks

Re: which tire size for my 16x7 40 offset c8's? (deepnite)
well, i had 205 40 16 on my 16x7 regamaster evo's but the offset was 45+. I wanted to see if some other tires would work so I put my friends 16x7 slipstreams with 215 45 16 on my car and they were rubbing reallly bad in the back. So I need a tire that will provide the most surface area on a 40+ offset rim and keep my car pretty low as well. any suggestions? thanks

the slips have a +40 offset..so i think the rubbing is due to the 215 s..stick with the 205 s..the 45 series tires is about 1/4 in taller than the 40 s and closer to ur OEM tire height
if it ll help my car was lower d about 1 1/2 "..and as ive said..with the 205/45 s i got barely a rub..but do expect some in extreme cases of cornering..most of us do

What I did for the rear rubbing prob was bend the Metal tab the sticks out where the rear bumper and rear quarter panel connect (screw together ) I wish I had a picture to show you but I don't. Hopefully that would help you. I t worked for everyone else I knew that had that prob but they we're using 205's . I don't know what offset they had.

Here is what I have to say.
I have a 2K Si, i had rota c8s 16s 40 offset, lowered 2 inches on ground controls.... I just sold them to another guy on this board... Reason being, every frickin tire rubbed no matter where I went or how lightly I drove....The 40 offset is going to suck *** on your EG, you will have to jack your car up a lot.

Im running a a 46mm offset. Only rub when pulling a U-turn.
It will work, I would reccomend if you have the choice is to go no higher than 40+.

Well today, my friend mounted some 205 45 16 yokohama es100's on my c8's. I guess I don't have a choice but to raise the car .
