Default Tires go RUB A DUB DUB!

Here's the deal. I am currently rockin Super Advan SA3R's 16x7 +35 offset with 225/45's on a EK. The car's suspension is on Eibach Pro Kits and Tokico blues... The left rear rubs on the outside. Well... the fronts rub too when im bustin a bitch and the right rear rubs at bumps ever so often.

So... I'm due for some new tires bad. Will 205/40's help? I just dont wanna rub anymore. I might even get new wheels. Those SportMax's are pretty sick.

If new rims may become the option... I'm lookin for 15x8's but dont know which offset will sit flush along the fender. +15? Anyone rockin these? I know that may be a bit too much since we have to run high offsets, but I'm lookin for a bit of a lip. Anyone rockin 15x8's? Let me know whats good.

Last option... GO FIVE LUG AND GET CTR Rims...

PM me... If anyone is interested in my rims... going cheap with UBER RARE center caps and it even has the center plate. (I know I'm not suppose to sell ish... SORRY!)

let's see some photos. nsxtasy on here might be able to help if you go in to the wheel/tire threads. 205/40 or 215/45 would work though. 225's are a bit wide, and the profile is a bit taller, but with some negative camber and zero-toe settings you should be alright.

Going with 205/40x16" would help. That is one large tire for a Civic (in diameter and width). You could also try 215/40x16" also.

I've fit 225/45x15" on my Civic but that is the correct ratio. I've had 215/45x16" on my 00 Civic Si also and that rubbed a little, but I had alot of negative camber front and rear.

The offset doesn't help either, as the correct offset for a 7" wide wheel is 41-45mm offset. Your offset of 35 sticks out the wheel/tire combo a little more.

You could also try rolling the fender, but personally I would get 215/40x16" or 205/40x16" tires. Your car will accelerate better, and mpg should better noticeably better too.

Thanks for the info. I knew that my offset plus tires are the reason why they're rubbing. Offsets confuse me. Do you guys have any "Stupid Man's Guide" to offsets? I've read countless of stuff on it and even had a Honda Tuning mag that had an article on it, but my girl threw it away and it still didn't make sense to me. My guess is that the lower the offset the bigger the lip? Also more negative camber? Correct me if I'm wrong. Damn offsets... I want a cool size lip too, but that is imposible on Civics. BLAH!

The rims have some curbing and paint flaws. I was going to sell em for $500 obo with centercaps. I like em alot, but I grew tired of them... actually... I'm hating on them hense the new rim deal or gettin the 5 lug conversion. Thanks again.

it's hard to control rubbing when you don't have a full adjustable suspension

get 205/40's, and if need be, roll your fenders, which you *might* have to do, but beware of paint cracks if you paint is minty mint

if you're rubbing somewhere else than the fenders, then you might need spacers/rolling

camber kit may help too, but try the smaller tires first

Tried the 205/45 tire and IT WORKED! ****IN AWESOME! I haven't checked weight tho... so imah get my fat friend sit on the rear seat on the left... see if it rubs during bumps. Fat friends... awesome...

ALSO! So... I got a great deal on a 5lug set up but it's a 36mm... I was reading up some stuff on it and it seems like they dont fit well on EKs? Something about the axles? So if I ran it with the axles it came with before then it would work? 36mm axles? Man... I hope so... cuz it's a great deal. Blah

Rolled the fenders already. I had to so they can fit before. It was just the tire size really. Too wide I believe.

Just an UPDATE...

I WENT FIVE LUG! Went from Super Advan SA3R 16x7 +35 4x100 to Volk TE37 15x6.5 +40 I believe I have to check and 5x114.3 oh... and the CTR 32mm setup.
