Default Tires

Nitto 450's or Kumho ECSTA AST's? Tire size will be 195/50/15. I'm not sure what to get so I need opinions and others' personal experience with the tires. How do they wear, how's the grip, any other info you think I should know.

Have you compared prices for the two and what are your intentions in terms of usage... just DD?

Check out tire rack I think they carry both brands there. Look at the cust write ups on each tire. remember a few things these are opinions, performance tires have lower wear index numbers ie softer rubber compounds and will wear out faster anything under 400 you will get less then 30k if you baby them, and a good bit of it comes down to driver preference. What I love in a tire you might hate good luck

Well I can get 4 brand new Nitto's from a friend for $280 (mounted and balanced for free). I can get the AST's for around $260 from Discount tire. They are for DD.

I have been reading the reviews on tire rack, but I just wanted to ask here as well. I know that the high performance tires wear quicker but that to me is not a major issue.

I have heard good things about Kumho, and since the price is right I would lean more towards them. Hopefully someone will chime in that has ran both and be able to give you their review based on fact. GL

Check out the Fuzion Zri.

Killer tire at a good price.

I've never been a fan of nitto's.

proxes 4's are the ****. Mine were 128 a piece though. 205/40/17. Only last 28k if taken excelent care of. The nittos are junk in the rain, the proxes are awesome in rain and dry weather. NO SNOW

Very true.

I like the Zri's. A set for 16's in 205/45 run $316 for a set from tirerack.

Just read some reviews. But you have to know which ones are credible. I usually try and find the ones that HPDE racers or Autocrossers have reviewed.
