Default Tired Of Crappy Tie Rods

Okay, this is a relatively simple question. My tie rod ends are obviously bad since my steering wheel has way too much play in it, and it kills my handling. So this I ask you:

When tie rods go bad, is it the bushing or the tie rod end itself? I have a full Energy Suspension bushing kit, and before I dump $100 on new inners and outers, I'd like to know if its just the bushings. And if so, my ES bushings will save me from buying new rod ends...right?

usually its teh bushings. u can get the ones for a civic for ~15 shipped for the ES tie rod end bushings. that should tighten it up a bit

i've been rockin the generic ebay inner and outer tie rods for 30 bucks for a while now, and have had no problems and no play in my steering wheel. Payin 100 for inners and outers is insane.
