tire question, n00b 17's
ok, so i got my first 96 hatch recently, been driving a 94 cadillac forever, so yes im clueless. I saw my friend with 18's on his 95 hatch, i got myself some 17 inch rims. Now im lost to what tire size to go with. Did a search but most tire sizes were 15's and 16's which made me feel like an idiot already.... help? 5zr's not hyper thanks

Go back to school and learn how to read. He drives and EK, and I think 17's are a good size for an EK.

Especially if they are BBS's with wilwoods tucked underneath.

I have a 97 EX 2dr coupe. Don't get 215/45 on 17s. My **** rubs on all four corners and when I do full turns it cuts chunks out the inner side of tires.
What this guy said should be the perfect size as long as you don't drop your car too much. I would go with 205/35 if price wasn't a big issue.
I had to cut the fender lip in the back and roll it up just so I can have a few passengers in the car without it rubbing. The front rubs on the plastic underneath the fender when I hit a big dip on the road or at the bottom of a hill. Potholes do nothing. Save yourself some time and definately get the right tire size. None really does any damage to tires except the tight turns where it cuts off chunks of rubber on the inside of tires.

im most likely going to lower it about 1.5 -2 inches, i was thinking about 205/40's. would the 205/35's be better?

return the 17's and get a 16 or 15
because 4 one tire is going to be a lil less.. if u ever get new ones
u wont have to worry about have enough clearance so ur tire wont rub.

sorry to be an *** but thats the first time ive ever heard anyone using a 215/45/17 on a civic, EVER. i can barely get my 205s to not rub with a 45 offset let alone a 215. plus my rims are 16s and i have 40 series. thats just insane to think that would fit and id go back to the company that put em on for you and tell em to learn their **** and dont take it back to them again.
