Default Tire dilema, opinions welcomed

I just ordered some Toyo Proxe T1-S's 205-45-16 (to fit my ENKEI RF-1 16x7's) from my neighbor for $100/tire.
I have a mild suspension upgrade: Tokico Blues w/Progress springs and camber kit w/22mm rear Progress sway bar.

My question is this. . .

Since my little 93 CX motor only pumps out about 50whp, I was wondering if these tires were going to make my engine work overtime.

I purposely purchased these tires because I am planning a swap by this winter.

Should I reconsider my purchase. . .or should I just suck it up until the motor swap in December?

Also. . .would adding an exhaust help to make up for the lost power?

Phew. . .that's it for now. . .thanks ahead of time

Don't worry about the tires causing any problems with your stock motor. Just put 'em on and do your swap as you plan to in December.

As far as exhaust... I wouldn't do it until you get your swap. At least, don't buy a header or cat until then... you could do a cat-back setup for the time being if you're impatient... but you're not gonna see much as far as gains go with the stock CX motor.

I figured I wouldn't see anything, but I do need a catback when I do the swap, so I figured I should maybe go for the exhaust now. . .I was also tinkering with the idea of adding a tighter suspension i.e. strut bars. . .I am debating over "to exhaust or not to exhaust, that is the question" (ok, please someone flame me now )

hey 93SSPHatch

i also have a cx hatch...ive had 16x7 5zigen division 3, 15x6 2000 gsr rims, 14x5 honda black steels, 15x6 eagle chrome rims (they came with the car), and civic vx 13x5 rims (made by enkei)...

i am currently running the vx rims and there is a big difference...the other rims lagged a LOT...try the vxs...at 9 lbs and really cheap, you might never go back...just a suggestion, cuz that motor swap in december seems so long away..

I definitely see your point. . .the tires are already here, so I really don't have a choice anymore. I am currently running on the stock CX steelies with brand new original tires. The guy I bought the car from put some cheap rims on with wider tires when he bought the car. . .so he never even touched the brand new stock tires and rims.

I am thinking about leaving the stock rims and tires on until I do the swap in December. This way my motor won't be lagging (well anymore then it already does) and I will have fresh meats when I swap in the motor. I want bigger wheels for better cornering and handling. . the stock 165-70-13 tires just don't cut it.

More opinions are welcomed
