Default Tips on hookin up an EG

sup.. i'm lookin for an EG shell to work on as a winter project... Never had one before I was wondering what you guys thought of d16y8 going in there with future plans for boost? Is this swap common and are there any major walls i might hit during a swap?

Keep in mind, i've never attempted a motor swap, only helped out with one and saw the basic teardown of all the tubes and wires.

Anyway I was either thinkin the d16y8 w/ future boost or b18b1 w/ future boost. I know most of you guys would encourage me to get the LS but the main issue for me is the price.... Whats the price difference like between the two?

i duno what the price difference is exactly between the two but the b18b i dont think would be a whole lot more. it really just a matter of who you get it from and with what kind of milage.

if i were you, id rock the d16 cuz theyre really cheap to get internal parts for and the engine itself will definately be cheaper. as far as fitment, either one will work with little worries. the only difference in the d series you'll have to convert the engine down to obd1 to get everything running (which you'd probably wanna do anyways if you boost). hondata doesnt mess with obd2 really, so its something you'd wanna get done either way.

tossing a d16y8 into an EG can definately can be done and wouldnt be the toughest of swaps for a n00b swaper, but not the easiest either. i say go for it though.
