Default timing question???

On another post I posted my 1st track time. I ran a 15.48 at 95mph with a 2.66 60'. Crappy yes I know but that brings me to the question..

About a month ago my friend and I changed my timing belt and never checked the timing because it was late. Could I be loosing power if my timing is off?

timing greatly affects the efficiency of your motor, thus the power

I don't think timing would cause such a hp drop off. He got a b16 pulling 2.66 60' times there is got to be something really wrong, maybe he put the belt way off or something because that's horrible. D16 will spank you.

Check the ingnition timing and check how is the belt sitting, hope it fixes it.

I can't believe you would change the timing belt and not verify that the timing is correct before starting the car, let alone taking it to the track

yea thats kinda what i was thinkin too. i manually rotated my motor like a bazillion times to check timing before i started it after cam install, and i checked my timing again before i went to the dyno like 3 days after that. either way, check it as soon as possible

That's my first time at the track. Trust me I know I can do alot better. I learned track is completely different then street because I hardly loose on the street.

As you can tell, I'm not to knowledgable about engine stuff. I can swap them and do little stuff, but I've never been around people that work on cars. I'll get it checked out today.
