Default Timing question...

My cam timing is off a few teeth and I have an adjustable cam gear. The timing marks that can be seen with a timing light are toward the front of the car from the notches in the timing cover. Which way do I need to rotate my cam gear to compensate for this, towards the front or towards the rear? My distributor is also all the way towards the front of the car.

I have another question...

How do I know if the crank is at TDC?

if your initial timing is off, there is no way to CORRECTLY fix it without removing the belt and indexing the initial timing that way.

^x2. base/intial timing must be corrected the right way by taking the belt off. Do it once, do it right
