Timing Problem
Alright heres my problem. I have a z6 i just swapped into my 99 civic. When i timed it using a timing light i noticed that the timing mark moved when i accelerated. Is this normal? Also it is at this moment when the timing moves that the engine misfires? WTF?

Re: Timing Problem
It's normal for the ignition timing to advance with acceleration.
With the engine idling at spec and the service connector jumped, is the pointer aligning with the red mark (middle in group of three marks)?

Re: Timing Problem
Yeah the cel is on but it is for the iacv. The plugs are new so is the distributor. the injectors are clicking. one is leaking gas . Would that cause a problem? Its leaking because the o ring is worn. im changing them soon.

Re: Timing Problem
Fix the leaking injector and then go from there. It may be the problem.
Are the plug wires also new?
Have you checked for CEL codes since the problem started? A new code could be pulled from the ECU.
