Timing off?
Ok, so i noticed if i take off from second gear and if i try to accelerate hard like half throttle it struggles and if i floor it it struggles way more but if i keep it at a quarter throttle it will pick up decent below 2200 rpms. Is this normal for a Honda engine? or maybe the timings off?

My first thought is check the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, as well as the ignition timing as mentioned. I think you can free-rent a timing gun from AutoZone.

Re: Timing off?
Everything is new. it runs great idles perfect. its only if i push hard on the gas under 2200 rpms it boggs out. and when in V-Tec it sounds like a **** load of tiny flames are coming out my header. my brother said it sounded like it wanted to blow lol. i think it is pre detonation not sure though.

Re: Timing off?
well i broke it off and melted it with the torch because i couldn't get my big pulley bolt off and need to set the timing and put the new belt on.
So i guess i can't check my timing lol.

Re: Timing off?
Get replacement upper and lower covers. They are absolutely essential to check the timing and protect the belt!!! Have you tried a junkyard?
