Timing Issues
Hi guys,...i'm new to this site. I hope I'm putting this thread on the right section. I have a 92 civic with a custom B18B1 engine (B16 auto tranny).
Recently, I have had to do some work on the car. I was driving home one night when the car just stalled and I had the engine light on.
I opened up the hood and found that there had been a lot of oil leaks on my valve cover. Pulled the spark plug wires and they too were soaked. Worse, the dizzy has been affected as well (hence the engine light), CODE 4 crank position sensor.
Anyway, I have changed everything: New valve cover gaskets, new sparkplugs, and new distributor.
But my dilemma is I could NOT set my timing on idle (16BTDC). I'm about 8-10 degrees off and the car feels gutless.
I've done everything to my best of knowledge.
I read something about missing a tooth on timing belt? What does this really mean? Do I need to get my timing belt done? It is only about 75,000km old?
Any tips would be helpful.

Re: Timing Issues
have you checked the mechanical/cam timing? turn the crank to the TDC mark and check that the cams are aligned properly. then go back and set the ignition timing.
