Timing/Distributor Problem.
I have a d16y7 with a JRSC set-up. The other night it started jerking and sputtering real bad after 2 minutes of driving, I would turn the headlights off and it would drive normal. So I drove it back to my house with the headlights off. The next day I drove it and it drove fine with the occasional sputtering in the lower rpms i have been experiencing. Later that day I tried to drive it to my dads 15 miles away and I got maybe 2/3 there and it started acting up again. I tried to start it and drive it with no accessories on but it didnt make a difference. It would sputter and the tac would fluctuate, it could sputter for maybe 10 feet and die, before it died it would backfire. I thought it was my fuel delivery, I checked it from my fuel pump to my filter, from my filter to my rail and it all looked good. I was getting fuel up to my injectors. I went back 2 hours later and it was the same issue. I went back two days later and it acted up still, for about 20 ft and then it started driving perfectly fine so I drove it back to my dads house and parked it. I am thinking it has something to do with my timing or ignition but I have no clue. Sorry, I am not a very good mechanic just yet, still young. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Timing/Distributor Problem.
I have a DTC code 8 which is top dead center sensor. Would my ignition timing have any effect on setting this code on an ODB1 honda civic 1.5L engine auto?
