timing on civic
my car been sputtering alot so i decided to check the timing. well it was 20 degrees is this wrong?

check your sticker under you hood, i think its supposed to be 16 plus or minus 2 degrees.

and you have to make sure that your with in 2 degrees because anymore could cause alot of vibration within the car on cause miss fire

It depends on the motor in your Civic.
Examples:
D16Y7 = 12 degrees BTDC
D16Z6 = 16 degrees BTDC

ok i have a d16y7 and its reading 20 degrees so its suposed to be on 12? and whats btdc is that top dead center?
