timing belt wont tension
ok so i put a d16y7 head onto a b7 block but now the timing belt wont tension when i want it to. i loosend the tensioner bolt and turned the crnkshaft about three teeth counter clockwise untill the front of the belt was tensioned(closest to the radiator) but now the back side wont tension. when i turn the crank clockwise to tension th back side the the belt jumps off the crank pully. it doesnt seem to tighten, i measured everything on the old head and the new head and there is no reason y it shouldnt work. any help please.

You are doing it right by turning it three teeth in the CCW direction, but stop turning the crank in the CW direction. After you turn the three teeth and then tighten the tensioner and contuinue turning the crank in the CCW direction. Do it about 4-6 complete rotations and then check to see if everything is still lined up.
The engine doesn't rotate CW and the timing belt can (will in your case) jump a tooth.
