timing belt/water pumb question???

Default timing belt/water pump question???

im goin to change my timing belt and why do i need to change the water pump toO?....how the water pump goin to be bad? my car only 86,000mil is a 99 civic si

chances are your water pump is still good. but most people just go ahead and change it while there in there, that way you dont have to worry about it later. but if it feels good to you, and you dont feel like changing it, then i say run it.

if honda suggests that you should replace the water pump around 90k miles (not sure the actual milage) i would do it as preventative maintenance but thats me

It is recommened that you replace all cam and crank seals plus the water pump along with the Tensioner and spring, all because you in the same area and it is easy to do the replacement right there and then, It will save you money in the long run labor wise and also time, plus you know its well done and not have to worry about that in a long time....

change the water pump, crank n cam seals....unless you wanna do it all over again

i just buyed a greddy timing belt, beck arnley water pump,beck arnley timing belt tensioer and some crank n cam seals....well guy this is my first time to mess with it wish me luck putting them in any tip or hint y'all got for me that be helpful? if my timing is off is that fixable? but ill try to get everything right

good luck - I see a lot of people recommend OEM on a inexpensive part like timing belt.

no no don't do that keep the Greddy Timing Belt.....You will be happy.....with the Greddy Belt plus it can handle more power if you plan to do some mods later on.....I would get the tensioner spring from the dealer, it is like $15.00 at the dealer...

oh ok what you guy think about this tools for the crank shaft pulley holder..i know is a pain to lose the pulley bolt's
