Default timing belt slipped = bent valves?

while changing the timing belt the crank pulley slipped by 3 -5 teeth. when I tried to start it (i didn't know at this point it had slipped), it idled like **** for a second and then died. I corrected the belt, still won't run. I assumed I bent some valves but I didn't have the ability to do a compression test so I couldn't confirm this. When it turns over it almost sounds like it has little to no compression at all because the starter sounds really even, like there is no resistance.

Here is the problem, I pulled the head off last night and I couldn't see any visible signs of bent valves. I'm assuming it wouldn't take much for them to leak, but can you usually tell when valves are bent by looking at them? I'm still pretty convinced it is the valves but just wondered what you guys thought. Just for kicks, I checked for a spark and it has it.

i wouldnt think 3-5 teeth would bend the valves.... but it may depending on how high you reved it. I had one slip 7 teeth before and everything landed up being fine. you can always just turn the head upside down and put like carb cleaner or something around the valves and see if it drains in around them.. if it doesn't just slap that head back on, time it right and do a compression test. good luck

I think it really depends which way you go... oh yeah and this is a d15b6

If it isn't the valves it is some very, very cruel coincidence.

P.S.
Is that avatar from the getaway in stockholm intro?
