timing belt question
on the crankshaft there are four marks in total. The first is a red mark with black lines on the outside, the second is a white mark. I was wondering, or making sure that the second, white mark is the top dead center. And that the first red and black mark is the ignition timing mark. The reason that I asked is that the first time that I set my valve timing it was off a tooth or two. If anyone knows for sure that would be radical

Re: timing belt question (dogfood)
is this what you mean?? there is a pointer in the shape of a triangle on the block, and a series of colored marks on the crank pulley. Each mark designates a certain spark advance. The upper single white mark is 0BTC. You will also notice a cluster of three marks that are very close together. The center mark is 16 degrees BTC while the mark closest to the front of the car is 18 deg BTC and the other is 14 degrees BTC
