Timing belt problem

Timing belt problem
Ok, so I am attepmting to change the timing belt in my car. It's a civic with B18b1 swap. However the bolt on the pulley which needs to be removed will not for anyhting,come off. Is there a special tool required for this? Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes.
Here is one of the tools. They aren't cheap, but IIRC they can be found for ~$80

i made my own tool and it worked great but the bolt still didnt budge i broke a socket (craftsman) then got an impact socket then broke the extension (snap on by the way) finnaly broke the head off the stupid bolt luckely the broken stud walked right out. oh yea even an impact didnt work for me. snap on makes the tool for like $60 i think.

its a real bitch to get off, what we did on my friends car is take off the belt cover and the alternator belt, loosened the tensioner and slipped it off that way,....good luck

theres a tool called a chain wrench that will hold the pulley without it moving. You can get this at sears, if they dont have it try a pawn shop. I got mine from a flea market for $25. Great tool comes in handy

You can bring it to a tire shop, car shop and ask them to use there impact gun and loosen it for you. Tighten it back up, drive home, and it should be easy to take off.
