Timing Belt hanging over edge of AEM Cam Gears?
I put my bel all the way on and when I start the car the belt moves over the edge alittle. Not very much about the width of 2 quarters on edge. But the thing is that the old OEM cam gears are alittle fatter than the new ones. Is this OK? Should I be worried. The belt is tight and the car is running great..This is a 97 integra b18b1 in a 94 civic dx...

incase for some off reason you dont have the two washers that go on each side the timing belt drive pulley. I had a friend who had the same problem as you and his block did not come with those washers there fot the belt was sliding off but not completely from the cams gears thanks to his valve cover. check to see if those washers on each side of the drive pulley, (not the crank pulley).

So I go down into the basement and have a look at my pile of old parts and guess what I see...The washers. Now I dont remember where exactly they go. Does it go on the Crank shaft pulley? Behind the underdrive pully?

Re: Timing Belt hanging over edge of AEM Cam Gears? (nota-ex)
i belive what he is talking about is the washers that go on the outside of the cam gear. Im not sure what he is talking about, but if that is you need to take the bolts that hold the cam gears off and put the washers on and then replace the bolts. Im not sure thought this sound rite to everyone else?
