Default timing

where do you adjust the ignition timing. I know how to adjust the timing on the cam via dizzy, I just think my ignition timing is bad. Also, if the ignition timing is off will that cause my ignition coil to go bad quickly?

Base ignition timing is set with the distributor. Cam timing can only be adjusted with an adjustable cam sprocket.
