time for new tires......what do you guys think?
my yoko parada (first gen) from my 97 civic ex is worn to hell now.....and i need to find a new set of tires for my ride.....personally.....for me, the Parada's suck big time...dry grip was ok...wet grip was so bad that i almost want to take a different car in the rain....before i had yoko a520....they were ok.....just that they wore out really fast...and the noise was really bad.......i am looking for something thats used mainly for street.....but the car is driven really hard at times.....mods include: prothane master kit, srr arms w/ prothane bushings.....rs*r springs, koni's, all the bars u can think of.....stock front sway, and 19mm rear...
people been telling me that kumho 712 are pretty good tires for the price.....
i just want something that grips better then those parada's, something that would last, and to do good in the wet....
please let me know which tire you would run on your car....
thanks

check out http://www.tirerack.com and check out the goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3. yeah yeah yeah, i know they are goodyears and i've gotten a few flames about that. but from my personal experience, they have really good wet and dry grip, very resistant to hydroplaning. they have longer treadwear than most max performance tires and they are extremely quite.
ive had mine for 3 months and put about 10K miles on them and they are still looking brand new.
they are a bit pricey at $82 per tire (from tirerack) but i got mine during the xmas holidays so they were on sale for like $60 something. lucky me! but when these wear out, i would definately buy them again.
but that's just my 2 cents. i bet i'll get a couple more flames from this post, haha.

I just got Dunlop FM901's from tirerack.com and I am pleased with them. I am not sure how good they would be for a track but it doesn't matter because you said they were for the street.

No flames from me. Those tires out performed the Bidgestone so3 in one of Tire Racks tests. I currently have the so3s on my m3 and they are definatly a nice tire. If you live in an area with alot of uneven roads you may want to stay away from them though, they can dart around on uneven roads. I'm about to order the new Goodyears and try them out, they should wear a little better then the so3s or so I hope.
BTW: If you order a set (4) of the Goodyears now through sometime in April you will get a free $75 gas card

i liked my parada's (first gens), and i like my parada spec-2's. i never had a problem with them dry/wet, except they're loud. get AVS ES100's. they're probably more to your liking.

I wouldn't get the 712s. I would really like to try out the parada spec2 or the falken azenis. A few people around here have the azenis and seem to like them...

I have Shimitomo's and my REX and Hankooks on my hatch. Both are just fine. Wet and dry traction is WAY better then stock. 205 40 16's .....try http://www.tires.com or http://www.tirerack.com or even http://www.ebay.com
