ok so I've been having quite a bit of female trouble on my mind for the past 6 months and I find that working on my car really helps get it out of my head... I need some ideas to do.. they gotta be decently cheap.. and hopefully time consuming... for instance, I plan to do red wire loom under the hood and clean everything under there, and maybe clear out the turning signals on the back tomarrow..

Here's what I got as far as current mods go..

Additional horse would be cool, the ideas need not to exeed too far past $100 each..if you could explain what I have to gain by your suggestion.. and I've already washed my car so many times the paint is about to come off... and I just did my oil change today.. thanks guys/gals!

personally, i would pass on the red wire loom.

Go eat a baf of prunes and a bottle of cranberry juice.
Sit in your car and listen to Depeche Mode untill you cry yourself to sleep then crap in your pants.
Then go inside and clean yourself, then clean your car.

That should kill about 5-6 hours, you will **** your sorrows away, and have a clean interior in the end. Best part, it will cost you 20 bux tops

-what to do to pass time eh?...Detail the schlock out of your ride. Paint your valve cover, adjust your valves, take out sound deadening materiel, take out your seats and rent a carpet cleaner for your flooring, hmmm, I don't know

dont clear your tuen signals and taillights

clean clean clean everything them go get some under coating and respray your underside of your car.

you could chane all the fluids in the car too oil, trans oil, and coolant then adjust the valves check clutch res and brake res
check fuel filter just look at every piece of you car and think of a way to either clean it ot check and reoplace it to help every little bit

Remove the sound deadening tar from you car with a hammer and a flat-head screwdriver...that'll take a while...but with dry ice it'll be quicker

you can gut your car clean it all with soap and water then put all the interior in after you use a heat gun to remove the sound deadner

then his car will sound like mine I didn't remove mine but with my music at the level I listen to it you can hear it with doors closed and all windows up atleast 50 feet away no joke, stock 6x9's no sub yet kinda cool sometimes Especially when you blast crazy orchestra **** like Carmina Burana or some weird **** like the one a mobile thing from the Family Man lol

You want to kill some time, prolly not the best idea but its what I do... Pick up a guitar and play until your fingers bleed. Sometimes it can make you sad, especially if you wrote your g/f a song and you stumble on it after she dumps you... My guitar is my best friend, it does what I want and it's always there for me to play. My car and my guitar are my other most important things besides my girl in that order...

I hear you on the girl trouble thing... My Civic project started as a way to get away from people, problems, complication, etc. Mechanical things make so much more solid sense than people or emotions do. Nothing makes me happier than working on a Honda.

So, some 'small-mod time consuming suggestions':

+ touch up rock chips, scratches on your car
+ wax it
+ work on re-routing underhood wires and hoses so they are more hidden underneath and behind things
+ clean your wheels using only toothpicks
+ change your brake pads
+ tighten your handbrake
+ check every possible engine sensor using specifications in a repair manual (Haynes, etc)
+ align your headlights
+ re-loom all wires (in whatever color) and zip tie the hell out of them
+ check your ECU for stored problem codes
+ change your oil
+ flush and fill your coolant
+ change your fuel filter (you might be suprised)
+ install a SureDrain FRAM oil pan plug (so you never have to unbolt it again)

+ weigh your car (somehow)
+ check for rust and re-paint areas in the fender wells that may have rubbed
+ change your brake fluid and upgrade to DOT4-spec. I use Castrol GT-LMA which exceeds DOT-4 spec
+ do the same to your clutch fluid (which is brake fluid), if applicable
+ change your automatic transmission fluid, or, if you have a manual, change it's fluid (It's motor oil, I put Mobil 1 Synthetic 10W-30 and it made a big difference)
+ run an engine oil "cleaner" through the system before changing the oil
+ take your front bumper cover off and straighten the fins on your radiator and air conditioner condensor (if applicable)
+ experiment with changing your ignition timing while running high-octane fuel (advancing)
+ change your timing belt (hell)
+ buy a timing light and check your ignition timing
+ buy a vacuum gauge and run checks
+ check your tire pressures and experiment with different pressures and how the effect the handling/cornering/braking of your car
+ change your wiper blades if needed
+ paint your wiper arms to match your car's color. make sure to sand and primer them.
+ clean and oil your cone filter with a K+N recharge kit
+ check your CV boots/joints
+ replace your distributor cap and rotor if needed
+ adjust valve clearances (fun)
+ Check your EGR (if applicable) and PCV valves

I know a lot of these don't add horsepower, but they do add peace of mind and consume time

get some carb cleaner and a scraper and install the new gasget. the gasget is cheap, it reduces intake temps, and it'll keep you busy for a while

ENERGY SUSPENSION MASTER BUSHING SET FOR YOUR ENTIRE SUSPENSION.

if you really wanna kill time, like a lotta people say, strip your interior! it may SEEM easy but it took me like 2+ months to strip my all the way! or if u wanna want. jus wash your car, do offroading in it, and wash it again, and the cycle continues, hahahahaha
