Tighten Up Steering
I want to tighten up the steering on my 97 dx. As you all know it has no power steering. So the steering should be pretty tight right? Mine feels a little loose. A friend of mine has a 93 hatch and i drove his and it felt alot tighter than mine. He says he didnt do anything to it. So far i have been told to try and tweak the steering gear????? I have no idea were to find that though. Iv looked but cant seem to find it. Any Advice besides getting an alighnment?

Urethane bushings in the front suspension and - though I hate to advertise for something I don't believe in - the Korbach frame lock thingers will help a lot.

I'm curious as to why you would suggest that the Frame Locks would help a lot, while at the same time saying that you don't believe in them. Do you not believe in their functionality, or is there something else about the product that you object to?

Re: (Tur*bLu)
my car felt very sloppy on the highway going 80 very loose and just plain sloppy.
i replaced all the ball joints and bushings with poly ones now the steering is nice and tight. no more slop.

Oh, it's not that I distrust the member's reviews of their functionality, I just don't believe in spending $250+ for something I could make with $30 and two hours of my time. I'm sure they do a wonderful job tightening up steering, but there's no way in hell I'm paying that much for some triabgulated brackets and grade 8 bolts.

Dampers?
Don't dampers play a role in the steering response as well? i.e. turn up the damper's "hardness" if you have one, and get better response, at the cost of stiffer ride... Could be damper's valves worn?
I would eliminate these as problems first... alignment (cheapest, easiest), bushings (cheap but hard), then dampers (expensive, hard) I don't know anything about the frame lock so can't comment...
