Tighten A/C belt for a 99-00 civic si
So My cuz came over my house with his car we went out for a drive.. it was hot so he turned the a/c on .. the thing started to squeel. so i went under the driver side and pushed/pulled on the a.c belt to see if it was loose.. and it was.. never messed with the a/c belt before (my cars usually dont have a/c lol) . .
how do i tighten it? all kinds of stuff is in the way like the power steering.. etc.
Thanks!!

it's right below the power steering pump. You might need a flashlight to get a good look. I thought it was like 12mm, but I guess 14mm is possible. Anyway, you loosen the nut at the base and then use a 7mm wrench to turn the long threaded bolt that actually tightens the belt. Make sure you tighten the nut again, it WILL back itself off and make your belt loose again if you don't.
The entire procedure is a huge pain and I usually end up taking the ps pump and unbolting it and moving it toward the drivers fender as much as possible.
Disclaimer, this is how the 94 VTEC B16 a/c tensioner works, I am assuming the SI is the same. If necessary, just pull off the 4 bolts and move the a/c compressor out of the way, you should be able to get a good look at the tensioner.
