Hey all, i just installed my tien ss because i thought that the reason to why my tires were rubbing was because the struts were blown... after puttin them on the tires STILL rub against the wheel well in the back...

this problems started after installing a rear camber kit... i checked all the bolts and everything is tight as possible(used a impact wrench) so i asked a technician friend of mine and he said the upper mounts are kinda fucked up and that could be the cause, he also said he thinks he can align it so that it wont rub, and hes gonna try to do that tonight but if that doesnt fix it what else could it be? could the upper mounts(since im using the stock ones) be the cause to make the car drop a good 1/2 inch to an inch to make it rub against the tire during just normal turning not hard cornering?

what size wheels/tires do you have?

its probably just becuase you took away too much camber.

negative camber is needed for your tires to fit into that wheel well afterall.

and how low are you?

17 inch wheels with 40% side wall tires(same as stock size wheels, but stock wheels go down some bc the tire flexes) its a good inch from the wheel well to the tire in the back, we adjusted the coilovers so that it rotated 10 times in the back and 4 in the front

It's probably the combination of the offset of the rims, and the camber kit. Try raising the car a bit, and adjusting the camber kit

Doesn't sound like a shock problem. Sounds like your tires are too wide or you have a goofy offset on your rims that's causing them to rub.

You should post up some much needed info if you want help. What car?, What size wheels?, What offset?, What are you using to adjust camber if any?

Based on what I don't know about your situation, my suggestion is to roll the fenders in. You can use something like a baseball bat, and just push that lip on the fender up.

we don't need to know what kinda of car. There is no correlation between the path the wheel travels and the shock and spring. The control arms and ball joints are all in the same place after changing shocks/springs or coiolovers so why wouldn't the tire follow the same path that interferes with the fender?

ok dipshit...a lowered prelude on 17's is much different then a lowered EH2 on 17's. Yeah the wheel takes the same path as the suspension moves, but the body surrounding the wheel and suspension is different from car to car, hence knowing the type of car is important.

correcting your camber pushes the top of the wheel further out, thus causing them to rub your fenders. on my accord, with 18x7.5 +42 rims and 225/40-18 tires and corrected camber, they rubbed. but on my friend's car, identical but without camber correction, they didnt rub.

read the first line of the first post. It does not matter what car because it would be the same on any car....the shock/spring won't change the wheel path.

thats waht i was thinking. I have 17's with Tein SS's and i dont have ANY problems

Holy ****...his wheels rubbed with his old shocks which he thought were blown...so he put on Tein SS's to try and fix it. He's the one that didnt understand that even with different shocks/struts the wheel takes the same path. But I need to know what car he has to let him know if he can physically fit that size tire under whatever car's wheel wells!!! I completely agree with the guy above that is telling him to add a little more negative camber back to his setup and they won't rub, or roll the fenders whatever you choose.

wow, you really take this stuff personally. I was, for the most part, talking to the guy who started this thread not you. I was commenting on his diagnostic error, and picking on your high strung internet namecalling. Your mechanical solutions are on point however. good luck freaking out about other peoples problems mike.

what the hell are you talking about, your first post in the thread was directed specifically at me!...You tried to come up with some bullshit, you were wrong. I only provided him with some sound info throughout the thread. You wouldn't be a man about being wrong. I'm not saying you're some complete idiot, just know when you're wrong and stop. Yup same thing happened to my boy when he got GC with his Koni's. check the fenderwell plastic and look all the way in the back

what kind of rims and offset?? you might have some 17x8 rims. Maybe you need to roll your fenders a bit
