Its a 95 Civic DX d15b7 and when ever I start the car I can hear a ticking noise coming from the head. I have no clue as to what it could be, and was wondering if anyone has had this problem? When I took off the valve cover to replace my gasket everything looked normal and clean. So if anyone has an Idea please help. Thanks!


P.S. Car also has about 120,000 miles on it.

ticking is usually the valves. they may need adjusted its normal cause well its metal on metal contact at high speeds. its bound to make noise

when was the last time you adjusted your valve lash? is it a loud tick??? and are you sure its coming from your head??? your injectors will tick aswell

not sure but Since I have gotten the car I have never done a valve adjustment, also how can you tell if its from the injectors cause they do look alittle rusty and dont think they have ever been changed. Also if it does need a valve adjustment how much does it usually run? Thanks!

Also you can hear the tick while standing outside or sitting in the car with the hood closed. So it is noticable.

sounds like the valve lash is a little on the loose side...... you can pay to have a shop do it.. which will end up raping you.... or you can buy the tools and do it yourself.....a feeler gauge set wont cost you much.. i got mine for 5$....and then all you need is a flat head screw driver and a 10 mm box end wrench. and a 17mm socket with an extension... plus about an hour of your time...... goto search and click archived content and search for the thread... d series valve adjustment....... it'll be near the top... the one with big pictures.. even tho the pictures dont work.... it'll still give you the step by step instructions.... your injectors are suppose to make a quiet ticking sound.. so theres no need to replace them.... anyways if you have any more questions just pm me.....
