ticking in my tranny?

Icon6 ticking in my tranny?

just started doing this recently it sounds like a piece of a gear or something has chipped and is bouncing around in my tranny. its a d-15 any ideads of what it could be?

Does it affect anything, or is it just a noise? Does the noise change when you put the clutch in, or when you have it out? Are you sure its your Tranny?

im pretty sure its the tranny i stuck my ear to it and thats the only place i could here the noise besides the normal d-series valve ticking. it hasnt affected anything yet. i dont know about pressing the clutch as far as i know its only in neutral when someone else gets home ill check it

whenever you get a chance, put it in neutral, and press the clutch in, listen. same for with the clutch out in neutral.

last time mine did that I put it off a few days and by the time I was ready to take the tranny out, it was too late, lost the ring n pinion. luckily the lsd was fine.
