tick tick tick.....help please...?
Okay, we are having a problem with my hatch. There seems to be a ticking sound while the car is going forward in gear (doesn't matter which gear). But when it isn't going anywhere and I rev the ticking isn't there. I dont know if thats because the RPM's are climbing to fast or what but we have no idea what it is. We changed the tranny fuild and that didn't help. I am totally stumped. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about....oh the car has 170,000 miles on the original engine so it very well could and probably is internal but I dont know where to start.

we had that thought...i think i just decided i didn't want that to be the problem so i decided that wasn't it.

He's probably right, but look at the CV joint boots... if they're split then yeah, new axle time. Or, if the boots have been replaced by the split-style boot (cheap). You can take your chances at the junkyard or go to http://www.raxles.com. Got my axles there, very good quality.
