Throwout Bearing
I am pretty sure I have the TO or IS bearing problem with my del sol. Has anyone had this done in a shop before, and how much did they charge?

Re: Throwout Bearing (wspcivic)
i just ripped apart a dx tranny to replace the IS bearing. I actually thought it was alot easier then i expected. If you have the tools and time, do it yourself. Just when prying the bitch apart, take ur time as some things might come out. The helm manual helped me. Also, there is a c-clip in there i didnt know about... took me a while to figure that out.
And only use honda bearings. Trust me on this!!!
The hardest part is getting the forks back in the proper position. I needed an extra hand but i got it done and it works great.

it depends on which it is but it wouldnt be real cheap. transmission remove and install takes a little over 4 hours so depending on the shops labor rate you would be close to 400 dollars just in labor....maybe more.

i believe thats about right, but it also included the tow fee which was for about 40 miles(i was in the middle of nowhere) and that labor sounds about right. like i said, sux not having a garage cause im more than capable to do it myself.
