so on June 2nd i got my new clutch it's a stage 3 with a 10 lb fly. Saturday night (June 11) i was driving and hit a HUGE puddle. i have a short air intake but i have no fender wells due to me lowering my car to low in the past. Well the car didn't stall out or anything so i continued to drive. About 3 hours later i get in my car to drive home and there is a horrible sound coming from the bay. i got it home (about 2 miles). took it to my mechanic today to se what the problem was and exactly as i thought i threw a rod . see I'm still a newb so i still rely on help from my mechanics one that does regular maintenance and one that is helping me with the performance. well my maintenance guy is telling me i threw the rod due to the fly that i got wasn't balanced properly and my performance guy is telling me that the fly that i got was balanced to tighter specs than the stock one and there is no Way that is what threw the rod. this was all done on a d15b in a 95 ex coup i know all of you think this is prime time to swap but i am wanting to keep the sohc platform. what do you h-t people think???? could it be because of the fly???? thanks in advance

I think its all a coincidence. An unbalanced fly wheel will ruin bearings before anything else.
Btw, how exactly does one drive with a thrown rod?
Since when you throw a rod that usually means either it breaks, or the rod cap comes off/breaks and sends the rod sailing though the cylinder wall.

that sucks man. i drove my car a total of 1.2 miles with 3 cylinders and a HUGE hole in the block due to thrown rod from excessive overheating for 18 miles.. hahaha cx motors suck *** but really indistructable.
