Do you mean while checking the code, it keeps repeating code 23? If thats your question then the answer is that its supposed to keep repeating it.

no.....in my helms it gives all the codes right.....for obd2 it breaks it down into systems.....a code 23 for ignition might be misfire.....as a code 23 for emissions might be catalyst....see what im sayin??? the only way to tell which 23 code its throwing is to hook a diagnostic tool up to it to read the full code.

A MIL code 23 is only a knock sensor circuit malfunction. That connector that's loose is probably the one that should be connected to the knock sensor. It should be located in the middle of the block, just under the intake manifold and close to the oil filter.

I'm wondering why you might have unplugged the knock sensor to change a headgasket unless you were removing the whole engine for other reasons.

I ran a 75 shot on the stock motor for over a year with no problems except a broken axle. I upped it to 100 shot with a built motor and blew the headgasket. Now I am going turbo and leaving the nitrous in case I want to still do a small shot and boost.

my book doesnt list a code 23 for anything concerning the knock sensor , i looked it up in my book and there are 8 specific systems acording to the book:
0=entire system
1=air fuel system
2 same as above
3=ignition system
4=aux emission controls
5=speed or idle controls
6=pcm system
7= tranny/transaxle
8=non computer controlled powertrain
im thinking im throwing a P0423 , which is a heated catalyst efficiency below threshold....since i dont even have a cat on there im pretty sure its the one im throwing

I looked it up on Mitchell online and the HELMS manual. Both list the MIL code 23 as being a knock sensor failure, or DTC code P0325. The connector is a one wire with a blue/red wire.
For an OBD2 car, there is no such code as a P0423.

Correct....a DTC code will be pulled thru the OBD2 port, and the MIL code is when you use a service connector, or jumper it, and read the flashes.
The HELMS manual lists the DTC codes in order with the MIL codes in ()
