Throttlebody PLate supposed to be sealed?
Is the throttlebody plate /butterfly supposed to be sealed when idleing, and the car stays running solely by the IAC valve? Im having problems with my idle with my throttlebody and i need to know if my butterfly plate is not completely sealing or if its somethig else , its an aftermarket throttlebody .

Does it idle high at 0% throttle when in neutral?
If not, then you have nothing to worry about. If it does, check your preload on the cables.

Well the thing is , if i hold the throttlebody up to the light i can see light the entire way around the plate , meaning a good bit of air can go through there. Its a bdl throttlebody , 68mm , i may just get an edelbrock or something
