Throttle-off lag in my '93 DX (D15B7)
I notice that when I push in the clutch and let off the throttle to shift, the RPMs stay up for a few seconds, then drop. I believe this is an emission control issue, I've seen it before on carb engines and other FI vehicles.
Does anyone know what part of the EFI system is causing this lag? Is it a simple solenoid, that can be easily disconnected? Or is it programmed into the ECU (bummer)?
I'd really like to be able to let off the throttle and have the RPMs drop immediately, the feeling of improved throttle response really improves driving satisfaction for me. I feel like I'm not in control if the engine doesn't do what I ask.
Thanks!

The throttle body or cable may be sticking. Start by doing a thorough cleaning of the throttle body and adjusting the throttle cable. The latter should have some free play in it.
