Default Throttle lag

Ok when I step on it the downshift doesn't kick on until the petal is almost to the floor, I push the pedal down and then after about 2 seconds the car kicks in the downshift how do I get rid of that lag? My friend was telling me there is some cord you can trim down and take some slack out of and it will reduce the delay.

Well, if you want a "lag-free" automatic transmission, I hope you're prepared to spend a lot of money . . .

BTW the car is not "kicking on the overdrive," because 4th-gear is the only overdrive gear. The car is actually downshifting when to floor the throttle.

that cord is called ur throttle cable. basically that is what you can you to adjust or get rid of the slack given to the pedal.

Your friend is refering to the kickdown cable. You have two cables to the throttle body one is the throttle cable and the other is the kickdown cable that connects to the trans. If you adjust the kickdown cable be sure not to over adjust it or you could ruin the trans.
