When I am in neutral and try to keep the RPMS steady at 2500 it will either bounc up and down aroun 1400-1900 or if i hit it a little harder it jumps to 3100+ it doesnt do it while driving obviously, any ideas on what to do?

maybe your tps(throttle positioning sensor) is broken.
